AUSTRALIAN GRAND CHAMPION NAMBALA NKAZIMLO PRIDE

"Lizzie"

Lizzie joined our family just on 4 years. She certainly was different to those who had come before her, extremely boisterous and had no idea what "No" meant. It took a while for the other dogs at home to accept this interloper but she managed to survive and settled into our routine.
Lizzie soon made her presence felt in the show ring, taking out contested challenges at the first three shows at which she was eligible to compete. She gained her Australian title at thirteen months and is now a Grand Champion - the first New Zealand bred RR to achieve this honour. Lizzie has unfortunately had to compete with her kennel mate and constant companion over the past three years and between them they have frequently taken out both Challenge and Reserve at major metropolitan shows. Lizzie's record under both local and international judges has been fairly impressive with many class in group wins as well as a number of Runner-up in Group awards.
The highlight of her showing career to date was winning open bitch and reserve challenge at the recent Ridgeback National under Zimbabwean judge Norah Griffin from an entry of 145 bitches. The win was made even sweeter when her daughter Nkazimlo Nambala Rose took Baby in Show from a total of 27 babies at just three and a half months.
Her other major achievements include being the Ridgeback representative for the 1999 Hound Club of NSW "Hound of the Year", a contest for the top winning hounds from various nominated shows during the course of the year, where she made the semi-finals and taking Best Headed Bitch at the 1999 Ridgeback Club Specialty. Natasha, our sixteen-year-old daughter has handled Lizzie through to all of these wins.

Some of her more notable wins have been:
Challenge Bitch RNSWCC Amenities Judge: Mrs Bloomfield (South Africa)
Hound Club of NSW Judge from Ireland
Belconnen Judge: Ms J Browning (South Africa)
Nutrience Spring Fair Judge: R Raita (Finland)
Nutrience Spring Fair Judge: R McDowell (Ireland)

Plus Multiple Group awards at Allbreeds Championship Shows

Lizzie has been a great surprise package when taking on her maternal duties, having produced a litter of ten she took to the role with gusto and produced one of the most even and contented litters that we have bred.
