"Harley"

In 1992 Kathryn and Eric Dodds decided to extend their family to include a Rhodesian Ridgeback and chose a very pretty girl out of our 'E' litter and called her Scarlet. Scarlet was a really lovely girl with a really gentle nature. As she grew up into such a beauty we asked Eric & Kathryn if they would like her to be shown at the dog shows - and so her show career began. She was shown to her Championship Title by Libbie Clout. It was decided to have a litter from her with NZ Champion Bulawayo William as the sire and so began the story of Haarlem. He began life in a very romantic way - being born on St Valentines Day with Kathryn, Eric and Rachel in attendance - and very quickly became the 'star' of the litter.
Haarlem remained with Eric and Kathryn's family along with Scarlett and has always been, first and foremost, a family pet.
He has grown into a very handsome boy which is complimented by a lovely even temperament. Eric often takes him to work with him and Haarlem has the important job of 'guarding' the vehicle.

Haarlem has sired 2 litters - one to our own Champion Nambala Gimira and the other to Michelle Steed's girl Ch Zingara Zaremba

The first litter has produced 2 champions - Ch Nambala Ngambwe "Riggs". Riggs is our current 'show dog' - see 'Show Results' for his progress. The other is Ch Nambala Nyanza "Beki". Beki is owned by Selena & Phillip Lyth.

SHOW CAREER

Haarlem was shown initially by Libby until her studies took her overseas.
At this point Damian took over and together they made an awesome team.
Haarlem became the first of two RRs to make the double (his son Ch Nambala Ngambwe is the second) - Best in Show at both Specialty and Allbreed Championship Shows in New Zealand

His major wins include:

Best in Show - Taupo Kennel Association Championship Show
Best in Show - Rhodesian Ridgeback Championship Show
Multiple Best and Runner-up Best of Groups at Allbreed Championship Shows
Plus many more accolades along the way.
